ALMS is situated on a beautiful new campus with easy access from several area communities. For most of us the drive will be shorter than a quick ride to Wal-Mart.

For a long time the main determining factor for church location was the time it took to get there. A horse walks about four miles an hour. (So does an adult man.) So, a hundred years ago almost no one attended a church that was more than two miles from their home – or about a half hour walk.

In 1955 President Eisenhower launched the Interstate Highway System, and a whole new universe of choices opened up to the American public. Cars had been around for over fifty years, but early roads were mostly unpaved and speed limits were between 25 and 35 MPH. Since then we have been in the fast lane…

This innovation forever changed the way we do church. For the previous 300 years the American church had been local. Now they could be regional. With paved roads and 55 MPH speed limits, Christians could worship and actively participate in churches that were farther away from their homes.

Christ Church is just six miles from Hwy 70 in Clayton; six miles from Wendell, and eight miles from Knightdale or Zebulon. Even parts of Selma, Smithfield, and 40/42 are less than a fifteen minute ride.

Archer Lodge Middle School is strategically located to allow us to potentially minister to over 70,000 people. We hope you’ll stop by some Sunday and visit. Remember, the school is only our starting location. Like Abraham of old, we don’t know where God will eventually lead us. We only know that our Heavenly Father has already selected that place and will bring us there in due time. Are you ready for an adventure?
